Several new smartwatches based on the Android Wear 2.0 platform await us this year. And they will be released by the Swiss watchmaker Movado, which owns such well-known fashion brands as Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss.
We are talking about a whole line of smartwatches called Movado Connect, developed in collaboration with Google. Immediately, we note that so far there are no images or characteristics of these very watches, since they will be shown only at the annual exhibition of watches and jewelry Baselworld 2017, which starts in Basel on March 23rd. However, the manufacturer revealed some details.
It is known that the Movado Connect line of smart watches will consist of five models aimed at representatives of the strong half of humanity. All of them will run Android Wear 2.0, which means they will be full-fledged smartwatches, not hybrid models. In addition, support for the Android Pay payment system is reported, which clearly indicates the presence of a built-in NFC module in the watch. Prices will start at $ 495.
At the same time, plans for the release of collections of smart watches from Tommy Hilfiger and Hugo Boss were confirmed. They are due out this fall and are also being developed in collaboration with Google. Thus, in recent years, classic watch companies are increasingly showing interest in the segment of smartwatches, while technology companies, on the contrary, are losing this interest .
